Outside his practice and the classroom, Dr. Shoha is a visible presence in the Metropolitan Detroit dental community. He takes great pride in service and leadership. This is clearly demonstrated by his position as president of the Tri-County Dental Health Council, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income families find dental care in Southeast Michigan. He is also an active member of the Michigan Association of Endodontists and sits on the executive board of the Macomb County Dental Association, where he serves as the association’s endodontic peer review committee chairman.
Dr. Shoha has accumulated a number of significant honors including an American Association of Orthodontics award for exceptional interest in the orofacial complex and was named a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honorary dental organization. He has also been named one of the region’s Top Dentists by Hour Detroit magazine.
Beyond his practice, Dr. Shoha enjoys collecting, playing, and building guitars and other stringed instruments. Dr. Shoha is married and has a son and a daughter.
Dr. Shoha is dedicated to ensuring that his patients receive the proper care they need. He regards patients as individuals who are relying on him to correct a dental problem. The diverse aspects of his career have given him the perspective, knowledge, and experience to understand that a patient’s comfort is paramount.
“I treat people the way I’d like to be treated. For me, it’s all about trust. My patients know that I’m treating them, not just a tooth.”
