Dr. Vajra Bentur

Throughout her dental career, Dr. Vajra Bentur has made compassion and empathy key components in her delivery of exceptional dental care. She views her patients as if they were family members and understands—as do all the endodontists at Professional Endodontics—the anxiety some people may feel when facing a dental appointment. Minimizing that feeling is a hallmark of her practice.

Dr. Bentur earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in Michigan from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2007. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry clinical program in 2008, and earned a certificate of endodontics and Master of Science degree in 2012—all at the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Bentur was on the dean’s list (the top 15th percentile of her class) throughout her time in dental school. In 2012, she was honored with the Robert Ellison Award by the Michigan Association of Endodontics for outstanding knowledge of endodontic literature. Prior to her studies at the University of Detroit Mercy, she received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Karnataka University in Dharwar, India, in 1999, and completed post-examination training and an internship there in 2000.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Bentur practiced general dentistry in Livonia, Michigan. Upon completing her endodontic specialty training, she joined the Professional Endodontics practice in 2012.

Reflecting her desire to stay on the leading edge of developments in endodontic and general dentistry, Dr. Bentur is a member of several national, regional, and local professional associations including the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Association of Endodontists, the Michigan Dental Association, the Oakland Dental Association, and the Detroit District Dental Society.

Dr. Bentur enjoys swimming, ping-pong, listening to music, and travel. She is married to a research engineer and has two young children.
